The main building, dating back approximately 400 years was thought to once be a an outhouse connected to the nearby Castello di Montauto, a castle with a thousand-year legacy.
The Montauto family, one of the most prominent in the region, once welcomed Saint Francis of Assisi to the castle during his pilgrimages, a connection that infuses a sense of spiritual and historical depth.
A pool, lake and various gardens spread throughout, meandering paths between olive groves and woods allow guests to subtly, safely get lost and explore.

Restoration was approached as an act of responsibility rather than transformation
Our stone buildings were restored over nearly three years, using traditional techniques and local materials, preserving their authenticity while bringing them gently into the present. Stone, reclaimed wood, and lime-based plasters create harmony with the landscape and minimise environmental impact.
There is no grand symmetry or formal gesture, only a lasting coherence shaped by generational use.

It was created as a space to slow down, to step away from the constant pull of urban life and re-connect with a more natural relationship with land, time, and one another.
